Receive 6 online sessions with an interventionist to improve health habits!

Partner Step T2D Study

We are looking for couples in which at least one partner is currently being treated for type 2 diabetes.  This study aims to create a program for couples to support each other in building healthy habits, specifically for older adults with diabetes. It focuses on helping partners make lifestyle changes together to better manage their health.

About The Study

What's Involved

You and your partner will be asked to complete: 

  • Go to the MUHC Glen Hospital for 2 visits

  • Complete two 7-minute interviews online on in-person

  • Complete two online questionnaires

  • Complete two blood tests

  • Wear a step counter

  • Potentially do 6 online or in-person coaching sessions

You can participate in this study if

You are: 

  • At least one of the partners in the couple is being currently treated for type 2 diabetes.   

  

AND you both are:   

  • Aged 45 years or older. 

  • Have been living together for at least two years. 

  • Must speak English or French.  

  • Must have access to an electronic device.

  • Must be ready for physical activity and have medical clearance if needed.

  • Both partners have to participate.
